Here is a great article on content writing for your web pages.

http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum44/589.htm

But in general, when writing articles, they don’t want you promoting your products or business.  Only do that in your author bio.

Articles are for sharing your expertise on a subject.  For instance – write an article on “How to” stuff.  Like “How to repair a hose with the proper hose fittings”  How-to articles are great.

Opinion articles are great too.  Try something like “Low Voltage vs Solar Lighting – Which is Better?” and give your professional opinion.

Try to use lots of keywords and phrases in your article content, but don’t make it obvious.  It should naturally flow just like you were talking to someone in person.  Better for the reader means it will be picked up by more search engines.

I recommend writing your first article in Word Format.
Divide it into sections such as:
Title, Sub Title, Content, Bio, Keywords.

Save your Document in an easy-to-get-to place on your desktop.  Then when you start going through all these article sites you can copy and paste from the word doc to the article submission areas.  MAKE SURE YOU PUT A LINK TO YOUR WEBSITE IN YOUR BIO AS WELL AS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.  Most of the article submission sites won't let you put links to your site within the content, but check each one and, if they allow it, put a link to your website in the content area.

It will take a lot of time for this first article because you will have to set up a log in and password at each site.  I highly recommend USING THE SAME LOGIN FOR EACH SITE if possible and have your browser remember the login and password.  It makes it so much faster for future articles.

Some of the sites on the list may be outdated and no longer available.  And many times the actual log in link is hard to find.  You may have to look around for it on a few of the sites.

Other tips:

Promote your website anytime and anyplace that you can.  On all emails, text, letters, your on-hold telephone system, etc.

Good luck!
